Q: Why should you update your software?
Software updates bring new features, bug fixes and improve security of your projector. It is recommended to always update your projector to the latest available version to get the best features.
Q: How can I do it?
To update the latest NeoPix Prime 2 software version, you can either do it through Internet or USB. Before you update the software of the projector, check the current software version. To do so, go on the home screen, press the top navigation button once or more to display the shortcut options. Then, select the Settings icon on the upper right of the home screen and press OK on the top of your projector or on your remote control, and go to About - System Version.
In case Philips Projection pushes a new software version and if the projector is connected to a Wi-Fi network, a pop-up window will automatically appear once your projector is turned on. Then, the only thing you have to do is click on it and the new update is installed automatically.
Through Internet:
- Connect your projector to the Internet
- On the home screen, press the top navigation button once or more to display the shortcut options. Then, select the Settings icon on the upper right of the home screen and press OK on the top of your projector or on your remote control, and go to System Update - Online Update
- If an upgrade media is detected, you are prompted to start or cancel the update
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update
Through USB:
You need a USB stick and a computer to download the update file. Please make sure your USB stick has at least 256Mb free space, and is formatted as FAT32.
Then follow these steps:
- Check the latest software version available on www.philips.com/support. Find your product by writing the model number "NPX542", then select Software and drivers
- Download the software into your USB stick. Unzip the downloaded file and save it in the root directory of your USB stick
- Connect your USB stick in the side of your projector and turn it on (if your USB stick does not appear on the top of the projector's Menu, disconnect it and try again. If your USB stick doesn't work, please check the format)
- On the home screen, press the top navigation button once or more to display the shortcut options. Then, select the Settings icon on the upper right of the home screen and press OK on the top of your projector or on your remote control, and go to System Update - Local Update
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update
Remember: do not power off your projector or remove your USB stick during update. It’s mandatory to keep your projector plugged into power during this time
